MAD4YU and Communities in Schools

Are you familiar with the important work being done by Communities in Schools of Richmond?

As their website describes:

Different kids have different needs. Some need academic help; some need a stable home and food on the table or someone who will listen and help guide the way. Others just need a pair of eyeglasses to stay on track at school. CIS supports K-12 students in 39 Richmond City and Henrico County high poverty neighborhood schools. Through early interventions and enrichment opportunities, CIS works with the community inside schools to help students succeed.

MAD4YU strongly supports the mission of this amazing local partner organization!

We were privileged to be a part of the recent Communities in Schools Resource Fair, held August 25th.

MAD4YU Founder & President, Gail Crawford, at the Communities in Schools Resource Fair

As a nonprofit tutoring and community enrichment resource center, it’s a core mission of MAD4YU to strive to fill the critical need in our community for equitable access to resources.

We aim to empower underserved individuals, regardless of age, race, or background, in Richmond, VA, and its surrounding counties. We do this by eliminating obstacles to resources and information, and offering a helping hand in the form of one-on-one tutoring and skill-building.

But, as our founder and president, Gail Crawford, stresses, this important work can’t be accomplished alone.

We are so grateful for the chance to align with wonderful partner organizations like Communities in Schools. We firmly believe that it’s through working together that we will truly be able to “Make a Difference” in our shared community!

Thank you, Communities in Schools, for all that you do!

We’re looking forward with excitement to building on our partnership!
